Gateway85 CID invests in placemaking projects that make the district more inviting, attractive and competitive for businesses, property owners and visitors. From gateway signage to banner flags and public artwork, these improvements strengthen the district’s identity while creating an environment where people want to work, shop and invest.
By highlighting the diversity and energy of our community, placemaking projects reinforce the value of being located in Gateway85. A vibrant, welcoming district not only enhances quality of life but also supports economic growth and long-term property value.

On October 1, during Gwinnett County’s inaugural Jimmy Carter Day celebration, Gateway85 CID unveiled a new mural honoring President Jimmy Carter along Jimmy Carter Boulevard — a vibrant tribute to the 39th president’s lifelong legacy of service, leadership and community. Funded by the CID and designed by local artist Lenia Castro, the mural reflects Gateway85’s ongoing commitment to beautification and public art within the district.
As the first in a series of planned murals, this installation marks the beginning of a broader Gateway85 initiative to bring more art to the community. Through these creative projects, the CID aims to celebrate local culture and history while enhancing the visual appeal and sense of place for everyone who lives, works and visits the district.

In summer 2024, Gateway85 installed new district banners featuring the word “Welcome” in four languages — English, Spanish, Korean and Vietnamese. The banners celebrate the cultural richness of our district while reflecting the international businesses and workforce that call Gateway85 home.
If you have not seen the award-winning banners yet, take a drive through the district to see how these enhancements bring color, culture and community pride to our streetscape.
