Greetings, Gateway85 members!

At the top of the year, the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved a lean and forward-thinking budget that prioritizes public safety, community health and high-quality infrastructure. The budget reflects a county government committed to supporting your success.

This year’s budget includes a dedicated Workforce Development Manager who will partner with the business community to implement programs that attract and retain a high-quality workforce in Gwinnett. To avoid the negative impacts of failing infrastructure, a new division within Planning and Development will proactively address future infrastructure needs, including transportation and water utilities, ensuring a smooth and efficient business environment for years to come. We’ll continue public-private partnerships to enhance public safety initiatives like Flock safety surveillance, which helps the Gwinnett Police Department with targeted crime reduction and prevention — keeping your businesses, employees and customers safe. Though the voters decided not to reduce our property tax burden to fund transit, the County’s ongoing investment in the Gateway85-Norcross Microtransit pilot program is bearing fruit. The Ride Gwinnett microtransit services assist our workforce in getting to and from work, supporting economic success. We’ll continue innovating with our transit solutions because we know the need exists.

From traffic flow solutions to workforce development, the County is making historic progress on some longtime challenges, and our progress will continue this year. I believe our initiatives will significantly enhance the business climate in Gateway85 today and tomorrow.
