Gateway85 CID is bringing more color, creativity and storytelling to the district through public art. From murals celebrating local history to new installations planned throughout the community, these projects transform everyday spaces while reflecting the people, cultures and stories that make Gateway85 unique.
Public art is also part of the CID’s broader commitment to creating an inviting, distinctive district for businesses, property owners, employees and visitors. As Gateway85 continues to grow its public art program, new projects will create opportunities to celebrate the community and add character to spaces throughout the district.
Honoring President Jimmy Carter
On October 1, 2025, during Gwinnett County’s inaugural Jimmy Carter Day celebration, Gateway85 CID unveiled a mural honoring President Jimmy Carter along Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The vibrant tribute celebrates the 39th president’s lifelong legacy of service, leadership and community.
Funded by Gateway85 CID and designed by local artist Lenia Castro, the mural reflects the CID’s commitment to bringing meaningful public art to the district while celebrating the people and stories connected to the community.
The mural is the first in a growing series of public art projects planned throughout Gateway85. As new pieces are added, each will help tell another part of the district’s story and create engaging, memorable spaces for everyone who lives, works and visits here.
