Gateway85 CID is partnering with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), Gwinnett County and other stakeholders to update the multi-phase Jimmy Carter Boulevard Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Study. Serving on the project’s technical advisory team, Gateway85 is helping shape a shared vision for growth, improved mobility and recognition of the corridor’s unique cultural identity. Building on the foundation of the original 2007 Corridor Study, this ongoing effort is focused on creating a safer, cleaner and more accessible environment for residents, visitors and businesses.
In 2017, Gateway85 secured a grant from ARC to update the LCI plan and expand its scope. The new study area includes parcels south of the Singleton Road and Jimmy Carter Boulevard intersection and extends to Britt and Williams Roads — totaling 3.9 miles. The study focuses on enhancing the corridor’s walkability, accessibility and transit options while preserving and elevating its vibrant, multicultural character.
