Gateway85 CID has completed improvements at McDonough Drive and Dawson Boulevard, creating a safer, more pedestrian-friendly corridor within the district.
The project included a road diet just south of Jimmy Carter Boulevard, with an expanded median to improve pedestrian crossings and better organize traffic flow. The sidewalk was also relocated farther from the roadway, creating additional separation between pedestrians and vehicles.
New drought-resistant landscaping was installed throughout the project area, adding a more welcoming streetscape while requiring less water and ongoing maintenance.
Together, these improvements enhance safety, pedestrian access and the overall experience for those traveling through the corridor.
