Gateway85 CID is committed to creating a safer, more secure community for everyone who works, lives and conducts business in the district. Through long-term investment in technology, partnerships with law enforcement as well as proactive programs, we’ve made public safety a core priority — and it’s working.
Since 2007, targeted crimes in the Gateway85 area have dropped 74%, reaching their lowest levels in more than 15 years.
- Robberies are down 79%
- Criminal burglaries are down 70%
- Motor vehicle theft is down 71%
To help drive these results, Gateway85 CID launched the Target Enforcement Zone (TEZ) program, a multi-pronged safety strategy focused on prevention and visibility. The program includes routine graffiti and litter removal, private security patrols and enhanced police presence in coordination with the Gwinnett County Police Department, including patrols by off-duty officers funded by the CID.
In 2019, Gateway85 also installed Flock Safety cameras throughout the district. These cameras are directly connected to Gwinnett County Police, providing real-time surveillance support that has helped deter crime and strengthen investigations. Since the initial investment, Gateway85 CID has tripled the number of license plate readers in the district and works closely with the Gwinnett Police Department to keep a focus on area security.

Gateway85 CID is proud to support the law enforcement agencies that serve and protect our district, including the Gwinnett County Police Department the City of Norcross Police Department.
To show our appreciation, Gateway85 has partnered with the West Precinct to sponsor a monthly Officer of the Month recognition program. Each month, an officer is honored with a gift card for going above and beyond in service to the community. This initiative builds on Gateway85’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with law enforcement and ensuring the district remains a safe, thriving place to do business.
“Our partnership with Gateway85 CID is a true example of how community support strengthens our ability to serve,” said Major Griffin of the West Precinct. “This recognition means a great deal to our officers and reinforces the value of working together to keep the district safe.”
